Getting into a tonne of sheet steel and glass that propels people at high-speed toward one another isn’t a ‘normal’ act for a human brain to cope with. It is therefore perfectly ‘normal’ to get a bit anxious about it!
However, in our modern-day world getting from A to B without a car can make life difficult. It could prevent you from doing basic things like going to the shops or enjoying a day out with friends. It may even hold your career back. Whatever your level of anxiety, A-DRIVE can help.
A-DRIVE specialises in assisting new and existing drivers with driving anxiety. Our Senior Instructor, Mark Cole, is a lifelong anxiety sufferer and was once hospitalised with this horrible condition. So, whatever you are feeling, we really do understand what you are going through.
We will calmly assess your level of anxiety, using a basic in-car scoring system (for more severe sufferers, we may use self-assessment sheets). This will help us to better understand what is triggering and/or may be increasing levels of anxiety. Once we find the root-cause we can work together as a team to help design lessons around the problem and to build up your resilience and overcome your fear of driving.
For students suffering from moderate to severe anxiety, A-DRIVE may refer you to a fully qualified therapist to assist with your difficulties further.
